Sunday is typically a very busy day for Susan and I with church and then open houses or property showings but we found time yesterday to enjoy a relaxing breakfast. Ingredient has two locations in Omaha and we have enjoyed both, yesterday at the One Pacific Place location. Susan had the Portobello and Spinach Benedict and I enjoyed a bacon and cheddar cheese omelet. Susan commented that the poached eggs were done a little bit more than she would have liked but we guessed that there is some health department code that requires that they be done to some specified degree. Being a mushroom lover she thoroughly enjoyed her breakfast. My omelet was hot and delicious although at four eggs was larger than I really needed. Both meals were served with home style fried potatoes. I highly recommend the sour dough muffins. On the way, a week ago Friday, to the theater we stopped to have dinner arriving just in time (prior to 6:00 pm) to enjoy a half price happy hour glass of wine. Susan ordered the Hunter’s Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin and I the Tuscan Wood Grilled Tuna Loin. Both were delightful and prepared just right. Sometimes its the little things that brighten up my day and one of those things is finding a service provider that surprises me with the level of value that they provide. Susan owns a fairly high end wristwatch that I gave her as a gift several years ago and like any quartz watch it occasionally needs a new battery. This watch has a very unique screw style back that requires a special tool and the only places that I could find that said they had the tool wanted $25 or more to replace the battery. This afternoon I opened up the yellow pages (for the first time in years) to jewlerers and the first ad that I saw was for West Omaha Jewelers & Repair which indicated that they charged $5.00 and up to change a watch battery. My past experience with such offers is that the more expensive the watch the more they charge for the simple task of changing the battery. Imagine my surprise when I called and was told yes they had the proper tool and that the cost would be, as advertised, $5.00. A bit later this afternoon I stopped by their shop and was in and out in less than five minutes with Susan’s watch ticking merrily away. I guess I know where I will be taking our watches for battery replacement or repair from now on.
